| Gold Members |
 |
| From the implementation of the tour guide category of TASA, it will take at least two years before any TASA Tour Guide can attain the Gold or Specialist membership status, the top level of Membership. This is because, TASA as a standards organisation require a minimum of two years membership in a lower category, (and at least one year as a Silver or Professional Member), before applications for Gold Membership can be made.
The first applications will be due at the beginning of 2011, but please watch this space as those who are eventually listed will be the best!!!!
The Gold or specialist membership category of TASA is designed to cater for the cream of Namibian tour guides. To attain the status of being a Gold Member applicants will have to prove a minimum of five years guiding experience and additionally that they can provide an exceptionally high standard of service.
It will be necessary to demonstrate to the Tasa Executive Committee that the applicant has expert qualifications, skills and abilities in at least one specialised guiding area.
Gold Members will be monitored on an annual basis to ensure that they are still providing a five star guiding service and that they have remained current with their knowledge of Namibia. |

| Silver Members |
 |
| From the implementation of the tour guide category of TASA, it will take at least one year before any TASA Tour Guide can the attain Silver or Professional Membership status, the top level of Membership. This is because, TASA as a standards organisation require a minimum of one years membership as a Provisional Member before applications for Silver Membership can be made.
Silver Members will be those Members who, after spending at least one assessment year as a Provisional Member, will be able to demonstrate to the TASA board that they are guiding in Namibia on a professional, (paid)basis. They will also have to provide references from employers and clients to prove that they are discharging their duties as a guide in a thoroughly professional manner.
The first applications will be due at the beginning of 2010, so please watch this space!!!! |

| Bronze Members |
 |
| Bronze or Provisional Membership is the entry level to TASA for tour guides and we encourage anybody with even an interest in tour guiding to become members. Currently all TASA Tour Guides are Bronze members because, TASA as a standards organisation, require that all tour guide applicants to spend at least one assessment year as a Bronze Member. Officially, the first year of the membership category for this purpose started on 1st January 2009. (There are some TASA Tour Guides out there with membership cards dated in 2008, but the provisional first year is only as from 2009).
After one year, if the guide is guiding professionally, is being paid for this work, and if he can provide references from employers and clients that prove they are discharging their duties as a guide in a thoroughly professional manner, they can apply to up-grade to the next category of Membership, Silver, or Professional Membership. |
